Pool Chemical Balancing
Lab-grade water testing and precision dosing. Balanced water every week, backed by a written chemistry report.
The chemistry we balance
Clear water isn’t just chlorine. Every Clearwave visit tests and adjusts all five of the numbers that matter:
- Free chlorine — the active sanitizer doing the work against bacteria and algae
- pH — affects chlorine effectiveness, swimmer comfort, and equipment life
- Total alkalinity — the buffer that keeps pH stable between visits
- Cyanuric acid (stabilizer) — protects chlorine from UV loss in Florida sun
- Calcium hardness — prevents etching of plaster and scaling on heaters
We also check salt level on saltwater pools and phosphates when algae pressure is high.
Why Florida pools need precision
Our state’s climate creates three specific challenges:
- Sun burns off chlorine fast—stabilizer must be kept in the 30–50 ppm range or you’re wasting chlorine.
- Summer rain dilutes everything—a single heavy afternoon storm can drop pH and alkalinity measurably.
- Heat accelerates algae—water above 85°F needs higher free chlorine than the industry baseline.
Guessing doesn’t cut it. We bring a proper test kit on every truck and log every reading.
Chemicals included
On our Essential and Full Service plans, standard chemistry is fully included: chlorine (liquid or tabs), muriatic acid, stabilizer, algaecide, and clarifier. Shock treatments after storms or heavy use are included. Salt is billed separately for saltwater pools.
One-time balance & diagnostic
Not ready for weekly service but your water is off? We offer a one-time water diagnostic and balance visit starting at $149—we test everything, explain what’s going on, and hand you a written plan.
